Expect cloudy skies for this weekend’s Sugo GT 300km Race, but very little threat of rain that could throw a curveball into the third race of the 2016 Autobacs Super GT Series.
The report from Tenki.jp calls for mostly cloudy conditions, highs of 22°C on Saturday for qualifying, and 23°C on Sunday for the 81-lap race, with lows of 18°C on both days. Tenki also predicts only a 20 percent chance of rain for both days.
In the last six years, three races at Sugo (2010, 2013, 2014) have been at least partially affected by rain – but last year’s race at Sugo, held in September, was under bright, clear skies.
There’s a similar report from Yahoo Weather, predicting the same cloudy skies, and highs in the low-twenties – but less optimistic about the chance of rain.
Accuweather is, however, predicting showers for the town of Murata on Sunday morning, with a chance of a thunderstorm later in the afternoon. Nonetheless, expect fairly low track temperatures and comfortable temps for the spectators in attendance.
