MOLA finishes ahead in final tune-up before official testing

A handful of cars took part in one final private test session at Fuji Speedway before the first of two official Super GT pre-season tests at Okayama International Circuit.

The #46 S Road Craftsports MOLA GT-R of Satoshi Motoyama and Katsumasa Chiyo edged out the #23 Motul Autech NISMO GT-R (Tsugio Matsuda / Ronnie Quintarelli) to lead the two-car GT500 contingent, with the S Road GT-R posting a best lap of 1:29.717, and the Motul Autech GT-R posting a best time of 1:29.936.

Three GT300 cars were at the test – with the first pre-season running for defending class champions VivaC Team Tsuchiya.

The #25 VivaC Toyota 86 MC was quickest with a best lap of 1:36.666. Takamitsu Matsui and Kenta Yamashita were joined in the VivaC 86 by a new face: Reigning Porsche Carrera Cup Japan champion Tsubasa Kondo, who will also test for the team at the official test at Fuji Speedway on March 25-26, in preparation for an expected third driver role.

Second place was the #7 Studie BMW M6 (Seiji Ara) with a 1:37.226. No time was recorded for the #61 Subaru BRZ R&D Sport (Takuto Iguchi / Hideki Yamauchi) which got its first shakedown of the pre-season.
