The entry list for this week’s Fuji GT 500km Race will be short one car as it was announced today that the #50 INGING & Arnage Racing Ferrari 488 GT3, driven by Akihiro Tsuzuki and Morio Nitta, has withdrawn from this week’s second round of the 2017 Autobacs Super GT Series.
The Ferrari was involved in a heavy crash during the opening round of the season at Okayama International Circuit, which necessitated extensive repairs – repairs which would not be finished in time to allow INGING & Arnage Racing to take part in the Golden Week race.
Nitta, a seven-time race winner at Fuji Speedway, escaped serious injury in the crash, and will be fit to race in the third round at Autopolis on May 21.
The #50 Ferrari appeared on the initial entry list for the Fuji 500km that was published two weeks before the event. That entry list has since been updated to reflect the withdrawal of this car due to unfinished repairs.
As a result, the GT300 entry list is now down to 29 cars for the weekend – 44 in total. There will also not be a Ferrari on the Super GT grid for the first time since 2014.
