Interview: Sam Collins, the English language voice of Super GT

Since joining Radio Show Limited and NISMO’s fly-by-night English language broadcast debut of Super GT three years ago, Sam Collins has quickly become the most recognizable commentator in the series’ young history, as it pertains to international broadcasting.

It’s just one of the many hats that Collins wears in his day-to-day life, as an editor for the respected¬†Racecar Engineering¬†magazine, as a respected commentator and analyst for Radio Le Mans’ annual coverage of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and as a purveyor and scribe for all things regarding motorsport engineering – from the Formula 1 World Championship, way down to the scholastic level in categories like Formula Student, overseeing the development of the next generation of engineers and designers.

And somewhere, between all of that, and a life outside of his main profession, Collins has found a niche in covering the Autobacs Super GT Series, first in written form, and now as a commentator and on-air personality for NISMO TV.

Super GT World is proud to present this exclusive written interview with Sam Collins, conducted on the eve of the 46th International Suzuka 1000km – where we talk to him about the 2017 Super GT season, the most fascinating car designs in series history, and more.
