Morning showers made for a wet 30-minute final practice session before today’s Sugo GT 300km Race, with Honda NSXes taking the top three places on the time sheets.
Koudai Tsukakoshi was the fastest driver aboard the #17 Keihin Real Racing NSX, posting a best time of 1:20.951. The #8 ARTA NSX (Kosuke Matsuura/Tomoki Nojiri) was second-quickest, and Bertrand Baguette brought the #64 Epson NSX to third place – not surprising, given the strength of the car’s Dunlop tyres in wet conditions. Saturday’s opening practice session for the Autobacs Super GT Series Sugo GT 300km Race was led by last year’s race winners, the Raybrig Honda NSX-GT of Team Kunimitsu, and drivers Naoki Yamamoto and Takuya Izawa.

Former GT500 champion and Drago Corse team director Ryo Michigami is returning to the cockpit of a Honda racing vehicle this September, as a one-off entry in the World Touring Car Championship JVC Kenwood Race of Japan at Twin Ring Motegi.
Michigami will drive a Honda Civic for Honda Racing Team JAS, alongside regular Honda drivers Rob Huff and Tiago Montiero of the Castrol Honda team, and JAS teammate Norbert Michelisz. The opportunity came about following the most recent WTCC round in Portugal, and after a successful test in Barcelona, Michigami is ready to make his racing return.
