This week’s Fuji SUPER TEC 24 Hours is the premier race on the calendar for the pro-am Pirelli Super Taikyu Series, one of the most diverse endurance racing categories in the world – featuring GT3, GT4, and TCR touring cars mixed with a wide collection of race-tuned production cars.
Super Taikyu is not a full professional series like the GT500 class of Super GT, or Super Formula, but in this race there are many accomplished racing drivers who have achieved stardom both in Japan and abroad. Even some of the less-heralded gentleman drivers have earned a great deal of respect for their contributions inside and outside of motorsport.
At Super GT World, we’ve broken down the entire entry list and highlighted the top teams from the top three classes, and the big-name drivers competing in the lower categories, to help you find a team to support in this weekend’s landmark endurance event.

At 26 years of age, Felix Rosenqvist has already established himself as a modern-day throwback to the days where a driver would race any car, anywhere, and win races around the world. He’s a Formula 3 Champion, a two-time winner of the prestigious Macau Grand Prix, and a standout of the FIA Formula E Championship.
On Thursday, as part of Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Motorsport Activity announcement, Rosenqvist was officially confirmed to make his Autobacs Super GT Series debut in 2018, driving the #6 Wako’s 4CR Lexus LC500 for Lexus Team Wako’s LeMans alongside Kazuya Oshima.
Rosenqvist will combine his Super GT duties with his primary involvement in Formula E, as he continues his activities in Japan after debuting last year with Team LeMans in Super Formula in a sensational rookie season.

It was the perfect weekend for premier class championship leaders ARN Racing this past weekend, at the Fuji Super TEC 10 Hour Race, the fifth round of the 2017 Super Taikyu Series, and the biggest event of the 2017 calendar.
The #8 Ferrari 488 GT3 of Hiroaki Nagai, Kota Sasaki, and guest driver Tsubasa Mekaru went from pole position, and outlasted the competition in a grueling ten-hour event to take their second straight win of the season. The victory also gives them a massive 19-point lead in the ST-X class championship standings, with just one round left to go in the season.
Further down the running order, Volkswagen took their first win in ST-TCR, and three of the seven class championships were decided – in the ST-2, ST-4, and ST-5 categories.
