Toyota Gazoo Racing announced their global motorsports activities for the 2018 season in a press release on Thursday, and with it, outlined their participation for the Autobacs Super GT Series.
Super GT series is the top category of Japanese car racing, and in 2018, Lexus Gazoo Racing will continue to enter the Lexus LC 500. Lexus Gazoo Racing will support 6 teams and 6 vehicles through TRD. In the GT300 class, Toyota Gazoo Racing will enter 2 Toyota Prius and 3 Lexus RC F GT3 models.

One of the front-running cars in last year’s GT300 class has been drastically revamped as it prepares for the 2018 Autobacs Super GT Series.
The INGING Motorsport LM Corsa Lexus RC F GT3 has a new title sponsor, and a new number, from the previous season – as the former #51 JMS RC F GT3 becomes the #96 K-Tunes RC F GT3, sponsored by the racing division of Okayama Toyopet.
The restructured team also brings in GT300 legend Morio Nitta to partner the returning TDP graduate and championship contender Yuichi Nakayama.

Reported from the floor of the Tokyo Auto Salon by Super GT pit reporter Amie Izawa, LM Corsa and Osaka Toyopet confirmed a personnel change first reported a week ago on the TV Tokyo digest show Super GT+.
Two-time FIA F4 Japanese Champion, and Toyota Young Driver Programme (TDP) prodigy Ritomo Miyata will join veteran Hiroki Yoshimoto in the #60 Syntium LM Corsa Lexus RC F for the 2018 season.
Akira Iida, after four seasons of driving for the team, and eighteen total seasons as a driver in Super GT, will step away from active driving duties to take over as the team director.

Ritomo Miyata, the two-time back-to-back FIA Formula 4 Japanese Champion and prospect of the Toyota Young Driver Programme, will make his Autobacs Super GT Series debut in the 2018 GT300 class.
The news was announced on TV Tokyo’s weekly digest show, SUPER GT+, and it was announced by the man that Miyata will replace in the #60 LM Corsa Lexus RC F GT3, Akira Iida – who is expected to retire after 18 seasons as a Super GT driver.
Miyata, who turned 18 just this past August, will be the youngest driver on the Super GT grid next year when he joins the Toyota Gazoo Racing-supported LM Corsa team in 2018.
