23 current and former Super GT drivers to tackle 2018 Nürburgring 24 Hours

The 46th running of the ADAC Zurich Nürburgring 24 Hours is the greatest challenge for endurance racers of all skill levels and production based cars of all kinds.

This year, a contingent of 10 current and 13 former drivers from the Autobacs Super GT Series will take part in this year’s running of the great race around the fabled “Green Hell”, including four former champions of the series and several other former race winners from both the GT500 and GT300 class past and present.

Toyota Gazoo Racing outlines 2018 Super GT Activities

Toyota Gazoo Racing announced their global motorsports activities for the 2018 season in a press release on Thursday, and with it, outlined their participation for the Autobacs Super GT Series.

Super GT series is the top category of Japanese car racing, and in 2018, Lexus Gazoo Racing will continue to enter the Lexus LC 500. Lexus Gazoo Racing will support 6 teams and 6 vehicles through TRD. In the GT300 class, Toyota Gazoo Racing will enter 2 Toyota Prius and 3 Lexus RC F GT3 models.

Panther Team Thailand switches to Lexus

Super GT’s lone international-flagged entry will officially join the Toyota Gazoo Racing umbrella in 2018.

Panther Team Thailand, who joined the series full-time last season, will contest the 2018 Autobacs Super GT Series with a brand-new Lexus RC F GT3, and backing from Toyota as they seek to improve on a difficult first season in their sophomore campaign.

Their lineup remains unchanged from 2017, with Thai racing legend Nattavude Charoensukhawatana once again partnering fellow countryman Nattapong Horthongkum in the #35 Arto RC F GT3.

Super GT stars past and present ready to rock the Nürburgring 24 Hours

19 current and former drivers from the Autobacs Super GT Series will make up the entry list of over 400 drivers from 161 teams in the 45th running of the ADAC 24 Hours Nürburgring, held at the daunting and demanding Nürburgring Nordschliefe circuit in Germany.

The Nürburgring 24 Hours (N24) stands as one of the oldest and most prestigious endurance races for production-based sports and touring cars, with 20 different classes of vehicles – from FIA GT3 sports cars, to TCR International touring cars, to various modified street-legal vehicles, and experimental machines – all on track tackling the fabled “Green Hell” for one of the great races around the clock.

And in among that diverse selection of vehicles are 9 drivers from this year’s Super GT Series, and 10 drivers from years’ past, who have ventured back to the Nürburgring to take on the challenge of the world’s most infamous motor racing circuit.
