Super GT World Is Going To The Suzuka 10 Hours – A Letter From The Editor

It seems surreal to announce this, but yes, Super GT World will be in attendance to cover the 48th SMBC/BH Auction Suzuka 10 Hours on August 23-25, on location at Suzuka Circuit.

This adventure will be one of many firsts. My first time ever covering a motor race on location as a member of the press rather than from my own home at Super GT World HQ. And, crucially, my first time ever venturing outside the United States for any length of time, a terrifying enough prospect with the travel anxiety that comes with it.

But this is one that I sincerely hope will be worth it. To be able to take in the sport that I love, this close to the action, is a dream come true.

There are many amazing drivers who I dearly wish to meet and talk to in person. Many amazing fans from the locals to the international travelers. In all of the planning and preparation, my sincerest hope is to be a positive presence at the event and to help elevate this event and the incredible people taking part, in the eyes of those following around the world.

Happy 1-year anniversary!

Today, July 1, 2017, is Super GT World’s one-year anniversary. A project that started out of love that has become, really, one of the best things I’ve ever embarked on.

This time last year, I’d been thinking about doing something like this, but was never confident in my own ability to follow through with it to the level that I would want out of myself. I was, for all intents and purposes, very wayward and seeking direction not just as a writer, not just as a creative person, but as a human individual.

That I’ve been able to keep this up for a whole year is something that I’m proud of – and I thank each and every one of you for staying with us.

Site news – May 22nd, 2017

Thank you to everyone who has continued to support Super GT World, as this site nears its one-year anniversary on July 1, 2017.

Super GT World is something that was started out of passion for the series, as is every creative and analytical endeavor that the site pursues – from our Driver Rankings series, to our commentaries and historical features – plus the new assignment for DailySportsCar.com, the largest international and independent online sports car racing publication.

Sadly, I don’t quite have the means to make this endeavor into a steady living, which is why I’m starting a “real job” today, and training for another in June.

Despite the fact that these new tasks may take a significant portion of time out of each week, I will try my best to make sure that Super GT World will continue to be updated with regular news stories, features, and race reports – along with live race coverage on social media.

I am also committed to uphold the tasks and responsibilities as special correspondent for DailySportsCar, continuing to work with editor-in-chief Graham Goodwin, and deputy editor Stephen Kilbey, who have both been terrific to work with in just a few short months.

As long as I continue to love Super GT, I will continue to devote the time that I have to covering the series to the best of my abilities.

In addition to the regular news, analysis, commentary, and reports from Super GT World as it starts its first full season in 2017, expect to see monthly columns and features for Dailysportscar over the course of the season.
