2017 Super GT World Awards: GT500 Driver of the Year

Every year, Super GT World honours the most outstanding performers in the Autobacs Super GT Series with the Super GT World Awards.

The GT500 class is the pinnacle of GT racing in terms of speed and spectacle. Over thirty drivers took part this year, but only one will be recognized as the Driver of the Year, honouring the most outstanding individual driver in the GT500 category.

It is an ultra competitive field in which there are no weak links, in which every driver has earned their place on the grid by their merit. Before announcing the seven finalists including the one winner, some honourable mentions…

2017 Super GT World Awards: GT300 Driver of the Year

Every year, Super GT World honours the most outstanding performers in the Autobacs Super GT Series with the Super GT World Awards.

Super GT World recognizes the most outstanding individual driver per each category with the Driver of the Year awards. In the GT300 class, there were more than 60 full-time competitors in the most competitive field of all time. But only one driver could be given our prestigious Driver of the Year award for the “super sanbyaku” class.

2017 Super GT World Awards: Team Director of the Year

Every year, Super GT World honours the most outstanding performers in the Autobacs Super GT Series with the Super GT World Awards.

This award is the Team Director of the Year award, given to the most outstanding team manager (or in some cases, the most outstanding chief engineer) in the Autobacs Super GT Series across both GT500 and GT300 categories. While the cars and drivers are the stars of the show, they require the guidance and direction of an effective leader!

As Super GT becomes a sport that reaches a wider audience with every passing year, it attracts the attention of some of the best drivers from around the world. To honour the best driver from overseas, Super GT World presents the International Driver of the Year award, given to the best non-Japanese driver.
